Solutions to treat / process polymers

In order to produce perfect plastic parts it is important to perfectly prepare the injection molding tool, to avoid deformation as well as guarantee outline-quality in the long run and at the same time minimize abrasion.

The functional PVD-layers by hartec are the solution. They are selected considering all characteristics of each injection molding tool with regard to the used polymer material, surface quality of the outline and the basic material.

The coating parameters are adjusted to the respectively critical temperatures in order to avoid modification of the basic material. PVD coating in low-temperature processes offers extended possibilities for the use of sensitive tool steels (1.2767, 1.2083 etc.), aluminium- and copper wrought alloys like MOLDMAX or AMPCOLOY in the mold construction.

The treatment of different polymers is significantly easier with reduced cleaning and maintenance effort. The lubricant-free handling of tools enables a trouble-free finishing of plastic parts.

Multi-layer coating systems

Multi-layer coating systems make it possible to influence various wear mechanisms. The characteristics of the different layers melt together and thus show high breaking strength, good durability and relatively high hardness. Due to a carbon-lubricating layer, the system shows a very low adhesion factor and the surface a minimal adhesion to the touching opposite body. Functions for emergency running and endurance running are considerably improved and offer high functional security to the assembly.
